Our own bookcases
This large set of bookcases is actually built in our own house (after much nagging from Mrs D!). Built over a radiator, the fretwork panel allows the hot air to circulate and keep our room toasty warm. It can still be easily opened to access the radiator for maintenance should it be required. We chose a mix of base cupboard (housing Mrs D’s hoards of china and glassware – must refrain from gathering anymore!) with adjustable shelving above. With a large bust of Peter’s grandfather to house, and a range of maps to large tomes adjustable shelving was important for us. Painted in light Fired Earth colour’s with oak lined interiors, it’s airy, light, and doesn’t dominate the room, but rather provides us with wonderful storage space and places for our favourite things.
